Focus on the Equine Spine offers international post-academic courses for equine veterinarians and licensed equine physiotherapists interested in the pathology, diagnostics, therapy and rehabilitation of spinal-related disorders and dysfunction in horses. Recent advances in spinal research, diagnostic methods, and imaging techniques have increased awareness of the prevalence and clinical significance of previously underappreciated or undiagnosed spinal and sacroiliac disorders in horses. Detailed spinal-pelvic examination, manual therapy with a focus on chiropractic techniques and specific rehabilitation programs provide an increased opportunity for effective management of neck, back and sacroiliac problems in horses....

Course Overview:During this weekend Students will be familiarized with the notion of adjusting Farm Animals by educating them about the 4 most common Farm Animal Species: Cattle, Hogs, Sheep and Goats. We will deep dive into the anatomy of the previously mentioned species as well as chickens. Students will be introduced to the “culture” of farm animal showing and how to build relationships. The Southwest Veterinary Symposium will once again welcome those that support veterinary medicine in our regions to include: DVMs, Technicians, Veterinary Assistants, Practice Mangers, Office Staff, Speakers, Sponsors and Exhibitors. A maximum of 28 CE credit hours are available for the SWVS General Symposium. In addition, DVMs licensed in Arkansas, New Mexico, Oklahoma or Texas may claim 2 hours of CE for visiting the SWVS Exhibit Hall. Please check with your state veterinary medical licensing board for specific CE allowances and requirements. It is the individual’s responsibility to maintain and submit CE records as required.
