My name is Dr. Silke Meermann; I am a small animal veterinarian in Bergkamen, Germany. After having graduated from Vet School in 2002, curiosity made me sign up for Veterinary Chiropractic with the former European Academy for Veterinary Chiropractic in 2004. In 2005 I completed both the EAVC and the IVCA-exams and have been an IVCA-member ever since. The way Chiropractic – and also Osteopathy and Physiotherapy – understand health and well being really has changed my life: Looking at things from a functional perspective instead of looking for names and diagnoses that tie an individual down to a disease or syndrome, really opened up my mind. As I have always been a „dog-person“, I took a small animal Physiotherapy Training and a Training in Structural Canine Osteopathy after that. At the same time I tried to learn as much as possible about different dog sports and behavioral training issues. This is where I met Christiane Gräff, a Human Physiotherapist and Osteopath with Special Training in Sports Physiotherapy – also dedicated to dogs. In countless talks and sessions we tried to combine our knowledge and fantasy – me coming from the Veterinary and Chiropractic Background – Christiane coming from the Human and Physiotherapeutic and Osteopathic side – to come up with osteopathic treatment techniques for dogs – and then put that together into our first book („Osteopathie bei Hunden“). The book is available as a hardcover textbook in German, it has also been translated into Spanish (Osteopatía en el perro). https://www.ulmer.de/usd-7118525/osteopathie-bei-hunden-.html As we saw – and still see – a lot of problems in connection with certain types of dog sports and the way dogs are trained, a couple of years later we felt the strong need for another Textbook on Sport Physiotherapy for dogs – this is how we came up with our second book („Sportphysiotherapie für Hunde“). It is also available as a hardcover textbook as well as an e-book. https://shop.thieme.de/Sportphysiotherapie-fuer-Hunde/9783132058712

Our former IVCA secretary Helga Thorwartl passed away on the 4th of October.
Helga started to build up a functioning IVCA secretary on the 29th of July 2006. She was a reliable partner for our members and the school owners. Her calm, determined nature was always a great help for everyone involved in the IVCA.
To enjoy her retirement Helga gave the office in younger hands and handed over to Kirstin. Helga’s last years were marked by serious illness. On the 4th of October she has lost that fight and passed away. We will always keep her in honorable memory. Our sincere condolences go to her family.

My name is Dr. Patricia Wanas, and I was born on July 7th, 1971. I have been working as a veterinarian since 1996, dedicating my career to the health and well-being of animals.
Since 2000, I have been running my own practice in Stockerau and I treat both small animals and horses. Over the years, I have developed a special interest in alternative healing methods, which complement my conventional veterinary work.
Around 2002, I became a certified specialist in chiropractic care, allowing me to offer a more holistic approach to my patients. My goal is always to provide individualized and compassionate care, combining different therapies to achieve the best possible outcomes.

Hi, my name is Denver Doyle D.C. cIVCA
My sister (also a chiropractor) and I own Full Circle Animal Chiropractic. Over the years we’ve had the privilege of working with a wide variety of animals including farm animals, horses, and our special passion for dogs. From family pets to performance and working dogs, it’s incredibly rewarding to help them move better, feel better, and live fuller lives alongside the people who love them.
Our practice is based in Wichita, Kansas, where we’ve created a welcoming space for animals of all sizes, but the majority of our care is focused on dogs. We work closely with pet owners, breeders, veterinarians, and trainers, and I especially enjoy those conversations, learning what makes each breed unique and how we can best support their health and performance through chiropractic care.
There’s something special about the bond between a dog and its owner. Whether it’s helping an older dog get back to comfortable walks, supporting a young pup’s development, or keeping active dogs performing at their best, every case is meaningful. Seeing that tail wag a little more or that energy come back is what makes this work so fulfilling.
While dogs are our primary focus, we also enjoy caring for other animals when the opportunity arises. This profession has given us the unique ability to impact not just animals, but the families connected to them as we also run our human practice in conjunction with our animal practice and that’s something we never take for granted. One thing I always tell all of my patients: if you ever have the chance to see an animal adjustment, it will make you a firm believer in the power of chiropractic!
I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to serve our community and to be part of the IVCA. I look forward to continuing to grow, connect, and help support the next generation of animal chiropractors."

I’m Steph Tilden, a chiropractor and certified animal chiropractor now based in Nashville, Tennessee. I’ve had a lifelong love for animals, so being able to care for them in this way really feels like everything has come full circle for me.
I graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, IA in 2015 and have practiced in Iowa, Hawaii, and Oregon over the years. Each place shaped me in different ways, but I recently moved to Nashville to fully focus on building my animal chiropractic practice, Wild & Well. I completed my animal chiropractic training through Options for Animals, and I’m truly grateful to now be part of the IVCA community.
A big part of why I’m here is my own dog, Monkey, a Husky/Lab mix who has been by my side for the past 11 years. He’s taught me so much about resilience, movement, and the human-animal bond, and he continues to inspire the way I approach care with every animal I work with.
I love helping animals feel and move better, whether that’s supporting active dogs, helping aging companions stay comfortable, or working with performance animals. I’m really looking forward to connecting with all of you and learning from this amazing group.
Warmly,
Dr. Steph Tilden ... See MoreSee Less
