Postural Rehabilitation Professional

Postural Rehabilitation Professional is a 6 week, evidence based, high contact online program designed to teach equine professionals how to evaluate and remediate equine abnormal compensatory posture (ACP). Participants will learn about how standing posture is generated and controlled by the CNS, the peripheral structures critical to posture that tend to become distorted by domestication, how to recognize and remediate abnormal anatomic structures (distal limb/hoof, stomatognathic system) and function of the cervical spine to restore normal neutral posture to equine patients. We will also teach team-building among equine professionals, professional communications and how to apply injury forensics to chronic cases.
There are 6 Modules, each exploring a different component of the postural organization and control of domestic horses. Each module will have 2-4 pre-recorded video lectures, and access to the scientific papers supporting the content. All times are Eastern US time (UTC-5).
Participants will:• Join the Postural Rehabilitation private member-only FB group, where you can reach out to the instructors with questions, and share your knowledge and experience with your peers and allies;• Watch the on-demand (available forever) videos, which will be open for access the week before each module starts;• Each Saturday will begin with a 75 minute Kinesthetic Awareness and Embodiment workshop, with Elizabeth Reese at 9:30 AM; • Dr. Shoemaker will hold a live PR Practical Applications session each Tuesday evening at 7:30 PM, explaining how to apply the concepts in the lectures;• There will be member success teaching assistants for hoof care and for dental care, to help bring you up to speed, if these are not your areas of expertise, or to consult with on difficult cases; • There will be a weekly Q&A session on Fridays at 4 PM ET, hosted by one or more of the instructors.
