Advanced Veterinary Medical Manipulation
The Advanced Veterinary Medical Manipulation course is a hybrid course that teaches students advanced adjusting techniques. Students will refine their skills, get more from their physical exams and learn new adjusting techniques. The course is open to veterinarians who are graduates of any veterinary spinal manipulation or chiropractic course. Small Animal and Equine tracks are offered.
Small Animal:
Course Objectives
The course is intended for students who have taken a certification course in small animal medical manipulation and would like to delve into deeper topics. In this course, you will learn:
· Advanced Adjusting Techniques
· Anatomy Trains
· Body Awareness
· Postural Patterns
· Craniosacral Therapy
· Joint Mobilization
· Canine Desensification
Equine:
Course Objectives
This course is intended for students who have taken a certification course in equine manipulation and would like to delve deeper into advanced topics. In this course, you will learn how to:
· Refine your techniques
· Learn new techniques for adjusting
· Find uncontrolled joint movement and its cause
· Use muscle development to spot changes in biomechanics before injury

Dr. Karen Spracklen DVM, CVA, AVCA, CVMMP
Dr. Spracklen, a Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine graduate, holds certifications in Veterinary Chiropractic (AVCA), Veterinary Acupuncture (CVA), and Medical Manipulation (CVMMP). As the owner of a performance-based practice focusing on TCVM and veterinary manipulation, she is a renowned national and international speaker on veterinary acupuncture. Dr. Spracklen is a published author in the AJTCVM, with expertise in equine acupuncture, and serves as an Assistant Editor. Additionally, she dedicates time to instructing at Chi University, currently coordinating the Veterinary Medical Manipulation (VMM) course and serving as faculty for the Masters in Integrative Veterinary Medicine program.
Dr. David Hirsch DVM, CVA, CVCH, MS-TCVM
Dr. Hirsch graduated from Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1983. He was certified by the American Chiropractic Veterinary Association in 2001, and was certified by Chi in Veterinary Acupuncture in 2002 and Herbal Medicine in 2007. He has also earned his Master’s Degree in TCVM from Chi. He is the co-owner and co-director of Parkway Veterinary Hospitals in Cape May Courthouse and Marmora, New Jersey. Dr. Hirsch is a member of the Board of Trustees for the Atlantic Coast Veterinary Conference and a past board member for the Marine Mammal Stranding Center of New Jersey.
Equine:
Carla Pasteur DVM, MSTCVM, CVA, CVTP, CVMMP, CVSMT, CERP
Dr. Pasteur graduated in 1991 from the University of Wisconsin and opened an equine exclusive clinic in Green Bay. The practice grew to cover five counties, with emphases on
reproduction and lameness. She received her acupuncture training from IVAS in 1997, sold her conventional practice and began an equine alternative practice. She has been a Chi instructor since 2005 and has lectured internationally. Her current practice encompasses TCVM, veterinary medical manipulation and osteopathy, focusing on sport and performance horses.
