Exam Application
During the course modules in the IVCA-accredited schools, course participants will receive relevant information about the possibility of taking an IVCA exam subsequent to having successfully completed the course.
The IVCA examination is held on an announced date, usually from 8.00 am till 5.00 pm (depending on the number of participants). Jewelry that can hurt the animal and/or the chiropractor, have to be taken off.
Application period
The completed application form must be at the office 4 weeks before the examination date.
Payment of the Examination Fee
The examination fee (600 Euros plus PayPal fees) must be paid in full when you complete the IVCA Certification Exam Application Form.
Confirmation of the registration will be sent (by email) at least two weeks prior to the exam.
If the applicant does not fulfil the requirements (having failed the school exam) the IVCA will return the student’s deposit immediately upon request. For absence with a valid excuse a handling charge will be deducted from the deposit. For absence without valid excuse the full examination fee must be paid.
Exam
The exam will be held in English or German. It consists of two parts, a written and a practical. The theoretical part consists of 140 multiple choice questions and lasts 2 hours and 30 minutes. The practical exam consists of 6 listings dog and horse of 10 minutes each and a 20 minute case study.
Results
The results are only provided on a pass or fail basis and they will be communicated by email approximately one week after the examination. Against the examination results no more ordinary appeal is possible. Access to the test documents is only provided to the International Certification Commission for Animal Chiropractic (ICCAC) and Managing Committee.
In case of failure, only the negative part has to be retaken during the next 3 years.
The exam fee for the re-take of the written exam is €200 (plus 5.48% + 0.35 Euros PayPal fees) and the fee for the re-take of the practical exam is €300 (plus 5.48% + 0.35 Euros PayPal fees).
