IVCA CPD Approval
The IVCA approves this seminar for 20 CPD hours of specific animal chiropractic hours.
The Applied Biomechanics and Rehabilitation program is a five course series focussing on
functional biomechanics and rehabilitation techniques presented in theoretical lectures and
intensive hands on practical sessions in small groups.
In Module 2 we will provide insides into the healing mechanisms of physical and electrotherapeutic
devices such as laser, therapeutic ultrasound, PEMF, TENS and shockwave and learn
treatment protocols for large and small animals in clinical set ups.
Physical and Electro Therapy: Potential, Interaction and Ramification
The field of physical and electro therapy for animals is huge and constantly growing, it can be
difficult to decide which is the best treatment for the individual patient and which device you
chose for your practice. We will give you a thorough overview of available options as well as
compare and contrast their pros and cons such as:
• Transcutaneous/Percutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS/PENS),
Neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES), Functional electrical stimulation (FES),
Microcurrent electrical nerve stimulation (MENS), Pulsed electromagnetic field
(PEMF), Electromagnetic field therapy (EMF), Molecular biophysical stimulation
(MBST), Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), Ekinox (Fittest Horse),
FasciaRelease (Neurostim, Matrix, ExtraCell, RollArt, Rapid Release)
• Laser, Therapeutic Ultrasound, Shockwave, Diathermy, Tecar
• In the practical sessions we will use various systems on appropriate tissues and
learn how to optimally include them in your every day work.
