Cervical Spondylomyelopathy / Wobbler Syndrome in Dogs: an overview for the Animal Chiropractor
It is quite likely that an animal chiropractor may be the first doctor to see a dog that is showing the initial signs of Wobbler syndrome because the initial symptoms can appear as mild mobility issues, gait abnormalities, and/or neck pain – things that we treat every day. Because of this, it is important that we have a familiarity with this condition so that we may inform an animal’s veterinarian when we suspect the possibility of its presence and have a strategy to best support the animal and the owner if the condition worsens.
