Dr. Michael Adney is a Doctor of Chiropractic and an IVCA Certified Animal Chiropractor who provides mobile chiropractic care for horses throughout Arizona. His practice focuses on identifying and correcting biomechanical dysfunction that may contribute to pain, reduced performance, stiffness, gait abnormalities, decreased flexibility, and restricted movement.
He works with horses from all disciplines, including dressage, hunter/jumper, barrel racing, reining, western performance, ranch, trail, and pleasure horses. Services include comprehensive chiropractic evaluation, spinal and extremity adjustments, assessment of joint mobility, and recommendations for stretching and home care to help maintain mobility and comfort between visits. Care is tailored to the individual horse and provided in collaboration with the attending veterinarian when appropriate.
Dr. Adney earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Southern California University of Health Sciences and completed postgraduate animal chiropractic training through Options for Animals. He has been IVCA certified since 2016 and regularly completes continuing professional education to maintain the highest standards of animal chiropractic practice. IVCA members are required to complete approved postgraduate education, pass the IVCA certification examination, and participate in ongoing continuing professional development.
In addition to clinical practice, Dr. Adney serves as an instructor for Animal Chiropractic Continuing Education (ACCE), where he has helped train hundreds of veterinarians and chiropractors in animal chiropractic techniques. He has also presented continuing education programs at professional conferences and is committed to advancing the profession through education.
His goal is to help horses move more comfortably, perform at their best, and support long-term musculoskeletal health through evidence-informed chiropractic care and clear communication with owners, trainers, and veterinarians.
