Our former IVCA secretary Helga Thorwartl passed away on the 4th of October.Â
Helga started to build up a functioning IVCA secretary on the 29th of July 2006. She was a reliable partner for our members  and the school owners. Her calm, determined nature was always a great help for everyone involved in the IVCA.
To enjoy her retirement Helga gave the office in younger hands and handed over to Kirstin. Helga’s last years were marked by serious illness. On the 4th of October she has lost that fight and passed away. We will always keep her in honorable memory. Our sincere condolences go to her family.

Hi, my name is Jen Allen, and I am an equine veterinarian in Glasgow, Scotland and qualified in animal chiropractic through the IVCA with Options for Animals. I qualified as a veterinary surgeon in 2016 and since 2021 have become a member of the IVCA.
Originally from California, I have worked in Washington state, England, California and recently returned to Scotland last March! Since obtaining my chiropractic qualification I have enjoyed incorporating it into my multimodal approach for poor performance cases, acute traumatic cases as well as general wellness and maintenance for horses spanning from the pleasure horse up to competition level athletes.

I'm Dr. Megan Bolentini. I grew up in the Bay Area, where my love for horses took root. From my first riding lesson, I knew my life would always include these incredible animals. The turning point came when I saw the difference a chiropractic adjustment made for my own horse. Witnessing the clear improvement in comfort and mobility sparked my interest in chiropractic care.
Seeing the positive impact of chiropractic treatment on my horse's well-being set me on my career path. I'm committed to enhancing the health and vitality of you and your horse through chiropractic care. It's a practical and rewarding journey that combines my love for horses with meaningful, effective healing practices.
I am a graduate of Life Chiropractic College West, and Options for Animals and I am IVCA certified since 2022.
During my free time I enjoy three day eventing with my horse Andy, and spending time with my family.
I serve Northern California with a focus in the bay and Sacramento areas

IVCA Member Spotlight / IVCA examiner
Hi, my name is Teresa Burks and I have been working as an IVCA examiner at Options for Animals in the USA since about 2007!
It is often a long day in either extreme heat or frigid cold, but sometimes the weather is perfect! Regardless of the weather it is always a great opportunity to refresh techniques. It is fun to watch the new students work their way through the test and succeeding. A great way to meet new and upcoming chiropractic stars. It is also a great time to meet up with other experienced chiropractors and learn new chiropractic techniques, talk business and life, and of course share pictures of our animal family too!
